The Prayer

The tires of Ambulance screeched as it came to halt at the hospital. The emergency staff was ready and furiously carried the stretcher from the Ambulance and went inside. Few moments later  the patient was ready to be operated in the operation theatre.  The family of the patient was in deep shock and the doctors were in a dilemma of whether to tell anything to their family or not about the criticality of the patient. Finally they decided to unfold the situation and disclosed everything to the family of the patient. The colour of everyone's face turned pale on hearing it and the situation felt like they had been struck by lightning. Everyone started weeping as they thought they might lose her. Who is she? What happened so bad that everyone was in such a condition? Lets know about it

Krupali Shah, age-35, mother of two children-a girl and a boy lived happily with her family. She was somewhat a kind of believer in God , a religious person who used to go to temple every day. She had a philosophy of thanking the God everyday for all the beautiful things given to her and she believed that God or not something powerful is there which rules the world, for her it was her God. On the other side her husband and children were not much of a believer in such things. They believed in Science and a physical logic behind everything. They didn't believe in miracles or any such things which science can't explain.

They use to tease Krupali sometimes for her faith in such things, which she clearly ignored. It's because she believed that with time they will also understand about it. That's why only Krupali went to  temple and no other joined her, and no one prayed in their house. So how this all happened and why Krupali is in hospital is a question to be asked?

Like everyday Krupali went to the temple. She as usual thanked God for everything, did her prayers and started walking towards the stairs of the temple to climb down. She was humming her favourite prayer song and her focus was elsewhere and she didn't notice the water spilt on the stairs and slipped badly. As her leg slipped through the water, her body lose balance and her head hit hard the end of the stairs and she fainted immediately and blood was oozing out from her head. The nearby people saw her and immediately called the Ambulance and here she was in the operation theatre of Apollo Hospitals.

The doctors told that due to the direct impact on the head and losing of blood the operation will be very critical and anything can happen. The family was in deep sorrow at that time and started blaming her for going to the temple everyday. They  thought if she didn't go to temple regularly, none of this might have happened. They started criticizing God for the prize given to her for her daily prayer. All of the pain and anger within them converted to anguish and they directly went to the temple of the hospital.

Few moments later, the father, the son and the daughter were pleading with their knees on floor in front of the almighty to save the life of loved one. With such weeping and pleading going on, one slight thought that developed a crack was will the God listen to them? If not then they only are responsible for it. Because all they had done was never to believe in anything which science can't explain and physical knowledge is not available. But today they badly needed a miracle to happen to save the life of a mother and a wife.

They sat there remembering all the times they had tease Krupali for her faith in God. They badly needed their prayer to be listened and were ambivalent in their emotions. On one side they were holding God responsible for all the things done to  Krupali, while on the other side they were pleading the God to show some miracle and save her life.

They sat with their knees down and hands folded for next five hours without even drinking a drop of water or eating anything. The operation ended and Krupali was shifted to ICU. The doctors came and saw them sitting infront of the temple. As the family saw the doctors, they rushed towards them to ask about Krupali. The doctors waited for a moment and told that the operation was successful and she was out of danger. She had been shifted to ICU for observations, but assured that she will be fine. Saying that the family clasped their hand and thanked them with tears flowing continuously. The doctors reciprocated telling that it was a very critical case and they should thank the God for it. It was  a miracle only.

Hearing this the family forgot everything about their physical logic and science behind everything and a new seed was planted in their mind that miracles do happen and there is no need to find logic behind everything. With this a small ray of faith was lightened in their mind not for the particular God  but for that something which rules the world, a powerful existence which can do miracles. Someone has rightly said," The truth is that Airport has seen more sincere kisses than wedding halls and the walls of hospitals have heard more prayers than the walls of churches"

A month and a half later, Krupali was ready after a long time for going to temple, as she has a lot to thank God for. As she was about to leave her rest of the family joined her too. She was a bit surprised to see this sudden change in their behaviour, but was happy also as finally her wish of making them believe and develop faith in almighty came true. She was the happiest person on the earth then.

Prayer is the link which connects us with the almighty, God or the universal power that governs the world whatever it may be, name doesn't matter. What matter is that to feel that something around you is there which will never leave you alone and will help you whenever you need it. We live in a fast growing world and a lot of miracles happen around us or which nature has created which science can't explain, which means something more powerful and mysterious is there and accept the fact. Call it God or almighty and have faith in it. It will surely be there when you need it, all you need to do is pray.

Sometimes just one prayer can change everything . Your life, your happiness, your friends, your family etc all is because of that almighty. You should thank him for everything you have. When you go to bed at night keeping the alarm with surety of waking up the next day, pray the next day to the God for waking you up. Tell everything to God and he will reciprocate just like your friend. Lastly just remember one thing in life.

 Pray, not because you want something from God, but because you have a lot to thank God for!!
