The End Game (Part 1)

**BREAKING NEWS!!!**
"The court has ordered to send police officer Arjun singh to rehab for his treatment. This order came in the wake of the case which was going on against him. Arjun was found guilty against the murder of his wife under the influence of the controlled substance. So the court has ordered for his treatment and then further actions would be taken against him. He has also been  suspended from his post of ACP. There is huge public outrage among people against this order. Everyone loves Arjun and under no circumstances do they want to believe that Arjun was a criminal. He had done a lot of things for the people. His supporters believe that he had been framed in this by someone. Also speculations are there that some top notch personality was behind all this.  Why all this support for a drug addict and a criminal? The support for the ACP can bring a twist in the tale. Is he guilty? or Has he been framed? The court has given its judgment and it's on him now whether to go to higher court or not. Something's not clear in this, but time will tell the tale. That's it from the studio, I Suhasini taking your leave, keep watching News Daily. "

A week later...

Good evening everyone. You are watching Prime time with me Suhasini.
It's been a week after the judgment came for the trial for the Arjun singh's wife's murder case, and there has been no notable advancements in it. Arjun has decided not to challenge the judgment and go to the rehab. His lawyer has given the official statement. Is this the end of the story. Is Arjun singh really innocent? or Has he lost faith in the judicial system?  or Unlike people who love him, who believes he is innocent,  isn't it possible that he is guilty and has accepted his punishment and don't want to go any further. Lots of questions, but unfortunately no answer to this. This is the end of the case.

Now let's move on to other news of the day. The TV was switched off with a self satisfied smirk on the face. A voice came from behind, " Sir, time for the meeting, all are waiting."

One and a half year later....

The old traditional red colored telephone of the police station rang. The news were , a murder of a brothel owner lady, which seemed strange as it doesn't usually happen. The incharge of the police station Deshpandey with his team went to the murder site. The site was just like a normal brothel, too many rooms, mature ladies and amateur girls. But the murder happened of their head, one who runs the brothel, Sukma bai. The police inquired if anyone saw anything .  There were only sad faces around and no one knew anything. The body was lying on a rocking chair with hand marks on the neck, as if brutally killed by force of hand.

Deshpandey took the look of the entire area just to see if there was any force entry or has anything been stolen, but no sign of that. He asked the girls ," When was the last time you saw Sukma bai alive?"

One of the girl replied, " After the last customer went, around 11 pm. Then we all went to sleep and as usual Sukma bai was sitting in the corridor on her rocking chair enjoying hookah. If any customer comes, then he is sent away by her." Deshpandey now understood what might have happen. The murderer came last night after everybody slept and killed Sukma bai. But he was not understanding why would anyone kill a brothel owner, that to so brutally unless it was a case of revenge. But what might that case of revenge be?  Deshpandey ordered his medical team to do the post-mortem of the body to get the further clue on how the murder happened and told his assistant Ajay to interrogate all the girls and the neighbours.

Three days later....

Deshpandey was sitting in the cabin when Ajay came with the post-mortem report. He told Deshpandey that slight traces of  poison was found in her body . A unique poison was given to her to make her unconscious  and then with bare hands she was asphyxiated . The poison increases the pain ten times to what a person feels when suffocated. Deshpandey was shocked with such cruelty and was now sure it was a matter of revenge. He asked about the finger prints found on the neck to Ajay, to which Ajay told that it was not in their database, apart from that it didn't even matched from the ones they took from the brothel house and their neighbours. Deshpandey  told Ajay to probe further into the matter and see whether in past something has happened in which Sukma bai had an active role, which can cost her to lose her life.

The police was clueless about the murder. On going further deep in the life of Sukma bai, it was found that she was indulged in many atrocious activities. She use to supply girls to political leader on parties, forcibly gave drugs to girls and as a result made them addicted to it so they can't leave her. She was also having contact was human traffickers and most of the underage girls were sent to her by human traffickers. She used to make mms of the political leaders and industrialist to whom she sent girls and blackmailed them for money. With such details, it was clear that there was motive for many people to kill her and the case has become very much difficult to be solved.

A week later.....

Despandey and his team were climbing the stairs of Bharat Mahal society , they reached the third floor, house no B-351, the door had the name plate with name Suhasini Gupta written on it. Another murder has happened and this time of a journalist. She worked for News Daily. The murder happened  last night and the neighbors called the police as bad smell was coming from her house. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan, made to look like suicide . In this case also there was no force entry and none of the neighbors saw anything suspicious. When asked to the watchmen, he told that no one goes upstairs without writing the name in the entry register and no one suspicious came last night.

The TV was switched on and News Daily channel showed," We have to sadly say that one of our best journalist Suhasini Gupta is no more. She was a very nice person and a passionate journalist. May she rest in peace. Now let's move on to the news of the day." A voice came from behind," Dad, your favorite journalist is no more, now who will do our tasks?" Father replied," No one is permanent in this world my son. Don't worry we will find someone else. And sooner or later this was going to happen to her. She has been a bitch lately. Her bad deeds had outweighed the good ones. " Both laughed loud enough to make her soul listen .

The post-mortem report forced to connect this murder with the murder that happened few days ago. There was presence of poison in her body too and finger prints were same . The police considered maybe it can be the case of a serial killer. Deshpandey was in dilemma, he was not understanding whether it was a well executed revenge or a serial killer was at lose. The media was told that it was a done by a serial killer and so the people were alerted about this, but somewhere Deshpandey was not ready to accept the fact. He asked Ajay to pull a few details about the connection of Sukma bai and Suhasini. The results were shocking. Both knew each other well. Infact on further digging, it was found that Suhasini used to do sting operations on politicians and businessmen with the help of Sukma bai's girls. They have made quite a few enemy and one of them is behind all this. Deshpandey was clear on his stand, it was a revenge story which was smartly diverted towards serial killing. But unfortunately, Deshpandey had no clue on who it can be and so waited for the next move of the killer.

Ten days later......

Deshpandey was restless, it has been 10 days and there was no sign of any move by the killer. He started feeling what if it was just the two of them who need to be killed and it was all over. As he was thinking deeply, Ajay entered his cabin with a packet. He told him that it has came for him. Deshpandey bluntly told him to open it. It contained an envelope with a number written on it. Also there was a note on it which said ' All your answers at one place'. Deshpandey started to  decode the number. He was a smart man and in no time, he found out that it was the number of flight to Zurich which will take off two days later. Deshpandey immediately told his senior and with his permission booked the ticket of the flight.

"What do you mean by its not possible? I need to reach Zurich as soon as possible. Can't you ask me before sending it to maintenance. I and my father now have to go by those down market flights inspite of having a private jet." Rahul Jadhav was angry. The entrepreneur who with the help of his father's political power started his own transport business and with the help of government tenders given by his father, has become a millionaire. Apart from this business,  he was involved in some criminal activities too like money laundering and havala. His father Prakash Jadhav was the party leader of the opposition and has helped him a lot to reach where he was today. Prakash asked inquiringly," What happened son?" Rahul replied ," Father, the private jet is in maintenance, we need to go by the flight." This irritated even Prakash. He annoyingly said," Son, our money is at stake, we can't delay much. Our account was hacked and it was God's grace that due to firewall security of bank they didn't got even a penny. It's because of my good relations with them, they are giving me a new account under an alias and for transferring the money, we need to personally go and meet them as early as possible, as the attack can happen again also." Rahul told," I completely agree father,  I will  immediately book next flight to Zurich. And one thing dad, what about security? How many bodyguards to be taken along?" Prakash replied," Son, we need to keep low profile in order to be safe from media attention, two will be enough. Tell Ravi and Raju, my usual ones to tag along with us. Also son, tell Chaturvedi to also come with us." Rahul being confused asked," Dad, what's the use of lawyer there?" Prakash told," There can be things where we need someone who knew about things, just to be on safe side. Call him also."

Deshpandey arrived on the airport early than usual timing and sat in the waiting lounge to keep a watch on anything or anyone suspicious. But he didn't exactly knew what he was looking for. The flight was announced and he went for boarding. He has told Ajay to secretly take fingerprints of each and every one of the flight, by giving them complimentary drink near the boarding area. Their plan worked and each one took the drink and they got the fingerprints of everyone on the flight.  Once in the flight, he saw politician Prakash and his son Rahul, along with their lawyer discussing something with someone," Where is Ravi? Why he has not come? Why did he instead sent you. He didn't even informed me. Who are you by the way?" The person replied with folded hands," Sirji, I am Shyam , Ravi's cousin brother. His mother's health has been bad from few days and she has been hospitalized, so he sent me here." Prakash nodded and said," No problem, but beware of surrounding. Keep your eyes and ears open."

It was long journey of 10 hours and so everyone was asleep as it was night flight. Deshpandey was waiting for the message from Ajay, if the fingerprints matched from the one found from the body. He was constantly checking his messages  and the message came. It read," No match found". Just as he read the message, a loud shout was heard from the business class area. He didn't understood what has happened and went running to the business are where he found one of the bodyguard lying on the floor of the washroom. A fellow passenger as she tried to enter the washroom, found the body of Raju lying there with same finger marks on the neck. Deshpandey consoled the lady and asked the air hostess to take care of her and told them not to tell anyone as they might all panic. He told them, that he was a police officer and he will find the killer. By the time he finished all this, minister and his son came. They were in dilemma of who would kill their bodyguard. Deshpandey told everyone to back off and go back to their places.  He searched the body and found a ring  in his hand, which might have loosen from killer's hand due to resistance by Raju. Deshpandey immediately took it and asked the minister if he knew anything about the ring. Minister saw for a second and immediately recognized it as he saw it few moments back and the ground below his foot moved away. He was lacking words and was unable to speak and finally voice came after few gaps of air ," It's of Shyam". Rahul asked," Ravi's cousin brother? Our new bodyguard?" . Deshpandey was shocked and started thinking ' Was he the serial killer'

Is Shyam the serial killer? Were the killings of Sukma bai and Suhasini done by Shyam? Was all this related? What was role of a bodyguard in this? Or is this all going wrong? Why did the fingerprint didn't match from those of previous killings if Shyam might be the killer? Why did Shyam did all this? If Shyam may not be a killer, then who can be? Too many questions, but nowhere near the answer.  Tune in to next part of this story and all your curiosity will be satisfied.
Till then....

Memories!!

The main door of house no 24, Alishaan society unlocked as Jay  came back from work. It was 31 st   December and so he had taken short leave from work in order to rest and be ready for the party hosted by one of his colleagues for welcoming the new  year. He kept the keys on the table beside the couch and threw himself on the couch as if his legs have given up. He was just at the boundary and was about to enter the world of peace when the doorbell rang twice. Feeling irritated and mentally cursing the person outside he went to open the door. It was his neighbour, who had come to give his letters and some other stuff which in his absence was taken by him. He thanked him, closed the door behind him and checked the letters. None of them were much important. He lied down again on the couch trying to sleep, but felt deprived of it. He went to the washbasin, washed his face and sat on his favourite rocking chair and started checking his phone. 17 Whatsapp messages from 13...

The Confession!!

“Madam ticket please, where do you want to go?”, asked the bus conductor, but the person didn’t pay any heed. The bus conductor asked again, more firmly but all in vain. She was completely engrossed in her thoughts. He then asked the person sitting next to the lost cause to bring her to senses to pay for the ticket. Finally, it worked and the conductor asked again,” Where do you want to go?”. “Goa “, the voice came from her. The girl took the ticket, kept it in her purse and went back to the same position as she was before. She leaned her elbow on the grill of the bus’s window and kept her face on the elbow, to feel the cool breeze and went back to where she was, in her past. ‘Life is amazing, weird, partial, frustrating and what not.
