The Triple Trouble (Part-2)

In the previous part of The Triple Trouble, we saw that Rishaan wanted to have cordial relations with both Kiara and Diya. He was confused between the two and his heart was constantly swinging between those two girls. The sport fest ZEST 2K15 proved to be a success for Rishaan and Kiara, but unfortunately Diya couldn't make her mark. All the DCEites were celebrating their college's success, while Diya grimly sat in the corner of the pub. Rishaan was again caught between two paths. On one side there was Kiara who was happy for her success and enjoying, while on the other there was Diya sitting sadly. What should he do? Finally it clicked.

Rishaan decided to cheer Diya as she badly needed it. He went to Diya and asked her to come with him to take a walk along the beach. Diya was not willing to go anywhere but with Rishaan's constant persuasion she gave in. Rishaan signaled Kiara, who was not in her full senses that he was leaving with Diya, but she somehow nodded in response. Walking along the beach Rishaan asked Diya to let all her frustration out, but Diya being a controlled creature didn't talked much. Rishaan knew a way to let it all out. He thought to make her drunk in order to loosen her up. 

They went to a beach shack and ordered a few drinks. Initially Diya was not interested in having alcohol, but she was having a bad day and wanted to forget everything and with Rishaan constantly telling her that she would feel better, she decided to give it a try. They started off with beer and ended with shots. Diya has lost her controlled state and become a all new person. She was mumbling out everything about the game, cursing judges and the competitors. Rishaan has never seen this side of her, but he thought that this side of her was fun too.

She was uncontrollable and started passing out in gaps. So Rishaan decided to take her to her room. Rishaan was supporting her with his shoulder as she was not able to walk properly. As they went inside the room, Diya asked Rishaan to stay there for some time. Rishaan sat there on the bed and Diya was lying on the bed with her head on Rishaan's lap and Rishaan caressing her hair. Suddenly the unexpected happen, Diya started telling her feelings for Rishaan. Rishaan couldn't believe his ears. With Diya mumbling all great things for him which he was somewhere in his heart dying to hear. A lot of unexpected things were happening this night. Diya would have never told anything near to this in her senses, as whenever Rishaan would go closer to her she maintained some distance and that attracted Rishaan more towards her. But this confession changed everything. Diya kept telling how everytime she secretly steals glances of him without letting him know and how she keeps distance from him just to avoid spilling out her feelings for him. 

This was all too much to grasp for Rishaan and he felt happy to hear all that. All this while he didn't knew Diya felt so much for him, it seemed as if he got what he wanted. As Diya kept on mumbling tales of her falling for Rishaan, she while still in Rishaan's lap went for his face. She caressed his face and slowly started moving towards her face. Rishaan got an idea of what was coming next. As their faces came too close with other, they could feel each other's warm breaths, both closed their eyes, trying to feel the moment. Diya in her senses would never even thought of this, but it was a lucky night for Rishaan. 

As Rishaan closed his eyes to feel the moment, he saw something and instantly opened his eyes. He saw Diya with her eyes closed moving his lips towards her, but Rishaan realising it was too late to let go of Diya's grip changed the path and went for Diya's forehead. Diya felt something wrong and instantly opened her eyes, to which Rishaan stood up and went straight to the washroom. 

In the washroom, he saw himself in the mirror and tried to gauge the situation. There were so many questions in his mind like 'Why did he stopped?', 'Why he is no more happy about the fact that Diya loved him?'. It was evident that Rishaan has so much in his mind and the booze was not helping him to think clearly. He knew what he saw when he was about to kiss Diya and wanted to do something about it, but he also need to talk to Diya when she is in her complete senses. He decided to call off whatever the hell he was thinking and take rest. As he came out of washroom, he saw Diya had dozed off and so he went to the couch and made himself comfortable. He closed his eyes thinking the coming day was going to be a long day. 

The morning sun rays peeping through the gaps between the curtains disturbed Rishaan's sleep and he woke up with a hangover weighing a ton on his head. He went to the washroom to freshen up and ordered ginger tea from the hotel service. The tea came and so he tried to wake Diya. After much efforts, she woke up, she was still a bit high and so Rishaan offered her hot ginger tea to make her feel better. After what happened last night, Rishaan was not able to have an eye contact with Diya. Diya found the silence disturbing and asked about it as she had blurred memory of last night.

 Rishaan didn't wanted to hurt her, but he also wanted her to know the truth and so he calmly told her what happened. Diya felt embarrassed about her actions and she started crying. Rishaan comforted her and told her that it was okay. Diya apologized him for putting forward her feelings for him in a absurd way. Rishaan maturely handled it and told her the truth which he found out when he was about to kiss her. He told her he was thankful to her to make him realize what he wanted. He told her that she was perfect and any guy would be lucky to have him, but with a guy like him it would be difficult for her. He also told that she deserved to be loved unconditionally, and she would really get one. Rishaan apologized Diya for not feeling the same for her and promised her that the night would have no impact on their bonding and will be forgotten. Diya being a sensible girl, though it was hard for her, she got the point and embraced the situation. She gave him a hug and wished him luck for what he was about to do.

 Rishaan felt happy and thought as if he has cleared the semi final of a basket ball championship, but finals were always tough. There he was standing in front of Room 203. He was dead nervous and sweating all over. He gathered courage and rang the bell. Kiara opened the door, surprised and asked," What's up with you nut-ball, this early morning?, You are sweating like hell. Come on in." 

Rishaan: Sorry, just had a walk along the beach to clear my head.

 Kiara: Ghosh! When did you start clearing your head? The Rishaan I know was having a head as empty as this beer bottle, right? 

Rishaan gave a small laugh and didn't argue any further which created suspicion in her mind. 

Kiara: What's wrong nut-ball? Why are you behaving so weird? Is Diya alright? You left early last night.

Rishaan: Diya is absolutely alright, but there is something I need to confess about last night. 

Kiara : Go on tell me. I hope you are not in any trouble.

Rishaan narrated the entire story and fumbled when the time came for him to tell about the kiss.

Kiara: Go on continue, so Diya proposed you and you were about to kiss.

Kiara was feeling bad hearing this but acted as if she was excited to hear all this. This created confusion in Rishaan's mind as to whether she had feelings for him or not.

Rishaan: We were about to kiss but when I closed my eyes, I felt something and so instead I kissed her forehead.

Kiara felt intrigued to hear what he felt, but didn't let those emotions come on her face. She turned her back towards Rishaan and said,

Kiara: What did you felt? You missed an opportunity to kiss Diya, dude. I hope you better felt something worth it. 

Rishaan: Guess I am here to find out whether it was worth it or not. Kiara, I saw you when I closed my eyes. All my memories with you came flashing in front of my eyes. Though I was with Diya and was about to kiss her, all my mind could think of was about you. I was confused between you two as I was never so clear about my feelings for anyone. But last night my heart and mind were in unison and they gave me the verdict. It was you Kiara. I thought I loved Diya more than you, but last night cleared everything. You ignored all my flirtations with a joke and so I felt like it was Diya, but it was you from the beginning and that's why I flirted with you very much. I love you Kiara, I really really do. 

Kiara was standing there quietly with her back turned as it was also too much for her and that too all of a sudden. Rishaan came behind her and told her that he was okay if she didn't had any feelings for him. He just wanted to clear his feelings to her. Kiara all of a sudden turned towards him and hugged him tightly. She was crying but those were tears of joy. She broke the embrace and looked at Rishaan, It was her turn to say what she felt all along.

Kiara: I didn't thought this day would come as I was sure you would choose Diya, because she is the perfect girl any guy would want. The day when I saw you at the annual function, I found you cute and from that day onwards, I started liking you. I knew Diya liked you too and she is my best friend and so I didn't wanted to come between you two. So I ignored your flirtations with jokes, though I liked them very much, gave you every chance to be angry with me and didn't gave too much importance so that you would be more attracted towards Diya. She liked you and so I wanted her to get what she liked. I am this crazy girl who does whatever she likes and who gets mood swings every now and then. Logically thinking between a crazy and a sensible girl with equal points on beauty, the sensible one wins.

Rishaan: Kiara, I agree that the sensible one wins, but love is not done logically. It just happens. Though you didn't tried to get me, then also I fell for you and that's my destiny. We were meant to be together. Diya is perfect and she needs a guy like her which I am definitely not. Rather I like all your craziness and I would be more than happy to participate in it too. I am confident on this now more than ever that you are the one and now it's your turn to think on it. 

Kiara: You are confident now, but I became confident a long time ago Mr Rishaan Arora. I love you too, you dumb-ass. Come on give me a tight hug.

There all three of them were standing in the Airport queue to collect their boarding passes. The Goa trip proved to be a life changer. The chaos running in Rishaan's mind had come to an end. He definitely found out what his heart truly wanted. Diya on the other side was still having some feelings buried deep inside her heart, yet gave a new perspective it. She now just had to find her Mr Right. But she was happy for Rishaan, though she can't have him as her better half, she was glad she still had him as his best friend. Kiara, who never thought of any of this was happy to get Rishaan. She was in dilemma of what made this change in her life, whether her good deeds paid off or whether her destiny had Rishaan all along. But the important thing is the trip opened new horizons for each one of them.

              Never force anything. Give it your best shot and let it be.
